Overview

Students benefit from a 13-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio and an academic experience centered around learning together with award-winning faculty. Students enjoy plenty of opportunities for direct interaction with professors. In addition to delivering an excellent classroom experience, our faculty are genuine teacher-scholars who produce some of the most important research in their fields. Students in any major can participate in research, including the annual undergraduate and graduate research symposia.

Many Duquesne students also take advantage of study abroad opportunities to explore other cultures, expand their thinking and become more global citizens. Duquesne offers more than 35 semester-long and short-term programs in Africa, Asia, Australia, Latin America, and Europe, including campuses in Rome and Dublin.

With more than 275 student organizations, club sports teams and intramurals available, Duquesne students have numerous ways to expand their horizons beyond their academic work. Campus social activities include concerts, comedians, trivia matches, movies, wing nights and so much more. Discounted tickets are also available for many off-campus activities such as concerts and sporting events. Duquesne has 19 D1 sports teams; students enjoy free tickets to most games.

Ask any graduating Duquesne senior how they feel about the next step in their lives, and you'll hear the same answer: "Prepared." We'll make sure you gain the professional confidence, impressive experience, and powerful networks you need to get a running start on a meaningful career.  Our graduates work in leading companies, nonprofits, and public institutions such Cleveland Clinic, Deloitte, FedEx, North Allegheny School District, Johns Hopkins Healthcare, PNC, PPG, UPMC and Upper St. Clair School District. Approximately 30 percent go on to graduate school in fields such as health, business, education, law and other disciplines.

Duquesne alumni number more than 100,000 strong and live and work in every state and in many countries around the world. Members of this tightly knit, well-organized network make an impact on every profession and can provide valuable professional contacts to students and new graduates.
